Goal: As a new user; setup Google connection and sync the events two ways

  • This is how to connect to google and two sync the event okay
  • Go here and do this and make sure to do that and then this will happen and stuff

Overview

This integration connects your Scrims calendar to your Google Calendar so that you can create events from Google Calendar. Additional features let you search for and then post a link to an existing event as well as share a summary of your day's work.

How it works

Create events from Google Calendar by typing the /Scrims event command into any channel. Add the title, team, and set optional properties such as assignee and project. Google Calendar messages can be linked to existing events by taking the Link Google Calendar message action while viewing or selecting an event. Use the /Scrims search command to look up events by event ID or words in the title, description, or comments. Select the event to post a link to the channel with a rich preview showing key event details. At Scrims, team members post a daily wrap of the work they completed, to keep others in the loop and share a quick summary of progress. This habit, especially helpful for remote teams, has been built into the Google Calendar integration. Type /Scrims wrap into any channel to trigger the action, which will post a summary of Scrims events completed in the last 24 hours.

Configure

A Scrims admin must first enable the integration for the calendar in settings. Once they do, any moderator can link their Google Calendar account to this Calendar and enable sync.

Scope
