25th annual Baltimore Uplifting Minds II Entertainment Conference

"Uplifting Minds II” (ULMII)Entertainment Conference was founded in 1999 as a free community event to educate about the business of entertainment and to showcase up-and-coming and aspiring artists (singers, songwriters, dancers and actors). The ULMII conference was founded by entertainment columnist Dr. Eunice Moseley (www.ThePulseofEntertainment.com) or acts as moderator. The ULMII Entertainment Conference in Baltimore is hosted by radio personality SAG/AFTRA comedian/actress Doresa Harvey (1500Radio.com). The ULMII Entertainment Conference is held virtually, powered by Zoom. Before Covid pandemic the Baltimore ULMII was held at Security Square Mall (www.SecuritySquare.com) which still sponsors the event, along with The Baltimore Times (www.BaltimoreTimes-Online.com).
Created as a community event ULMII offers a Professional Industry "Q&A Session", a "Professional Talent Showcase" of aspiring indie label artists and a "National Talent Competition" of singers, songwriters, dancers and actors who have a chance to get feedback from the Industry Panelists and win the "ULMII Best Artist" Award and over $30,000 valued in products and services, and a cash prize from the Uplifting MInds II Foundation.
The ULMII Entertainment Conference is also held in Los Angeles on November 9, 2024) which is hosted by Sports Commentor/Motivational Speaker Vera Jones (ESPN, Fox Sports) and actress/dancers Raquel Belt (Vanguard Affinity Group). Check out highlights of past conferences at www.UpliftingMinds2.com.
Success stories include:
- Grammy Award winning Miguel - performed at the Los Angeles conference and was signed to a record deal by panelist Jimmy Maynes, Sr. VP at Jive Records.
- New Jersey’s Naturi Naughton performed at the Baltimore “ULMII” conference and was scouted by Broadway while at the event. Her Broadway run led to her joining the R&B group 3LW and after leaving the group she landed a leading role in the STARZ Network series “Power”.
- Baltimore singers/songwriters The Featherstone Brothers performed an original song at ULMII, which so impress diamond selling SisQo (Dru Hill), there to support ULMII panelist Jazz (Dru Hill) , that he included the song on the 3rd Dru Hill album as “I Should Be (Your Boyfriend)”. The song was selected as the first single/video off the Dru Hill project, and it went platinum.
- Singer/dancer RoShon Fegan performed at the Los Angeles “ULMII” conference, and his dad/manager said the information he learned from the panel was instrumental in him taking RoShon to the next level. That next level included a co-starring role on Disney’s sitcom “Shake It Up,” which led to a leading role in Disney’s “Camp Rock”. From there RoShon went on to star in the ABC dance competition “Dancing with the Stars.
