AA2A Seminar Series - Marketing
Welcome to the final part of the AA2A Seminar Series - 'Marketing'!
This is aimed at art and design students as well as recent graduates and early career artists looking for help and advice in matters relating to marketing within the creative industries.
This online event will look at how to successfully navigate the move from student life to getting paid work.
We are presenting the seminar in a panel discussion format where will we take questions from audience members. The panel will include AA2A as well as two external guests Jessica Grady and Sophie Nowakowska
Jessica Grady is an award winning embroidery artist, tutor and author from West Yorkshire, England. Her work is a colourful and creative exploration of hand stitch and mixed media, and she utilises waste and recycled materials, which are transformed into exciting embellishments. Jessica’s work has been exhibited in the UK, Europe and Asia, and she shares her skills across the UK and beyond through workshops and lectures. Her first book - Stitched Mixed Media was published in 2023 with Crowood Press.
Sophie Nowakowska is a freelance curator with a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art from the Cambridge School of Art and a Master’s in Curating Contemporary Art from the Royal College of Art. Her work ranges from exhibitions to panel discussions and workshops, all aimed at fostering communication with audiences and supporting emerging artists. Sophie’s curatorial expertise shines in her ability to create engaging exhibitions in unconventional spaces, shared with a wider audience through her Instagram, @professional_art_bullshitter. Her professional experience spans various roles, including evaluating socially engaged artworks, leading marketing strategies, and managing artist studios.
