About the Course
An introduction to Editing and Premiere Pro, including exploring the role of the editor, the different stages of production, technical considerations and understanding the post-production workflow.
The course will take participants through exploring the interface and understanding the different workspaces; organisation, file and media management, ingesting footage, setting up a project and creating a sequence. It will also cover basic editing techniques, including exploring the Premiere Pro tool set and 3-point editing. The course will also look at editing audio in Premiere Pro; using Transitions, Effects, and Keyframes, creating and Tracking masks and creating Custom Graphics and Text Overlays.
Finally, the course will deal with export and delivery, including delivery for colour grade and sound mix, and optimum settings for deliverables for broadcast, film festivals or upload to web and social media platforms.
There will also be a follow-up option to book discounted 1-2-1 tuition and feedback on your own films and projects.

About the Tutor
Bex Goff is a multi-skilled Writer/Director, a BBC-trained Studio Director and self-shooting filmmaker. She is a Senior Technical Instructor in Filmmaking & Media at University West of England, Bristol.
Her professional experience has encompassed working as a studio director across ITN news programmes and BBC Regional News and Current Affairs. As a freelance filmmaker, she worked on entertainment programmes including ‘Exclusive’ & ‘The Movie Chart Show’ for Channel 5/Mentorn and British Airways inflight Entertainment. On a sabbatical from the BBC, Bex worked for the Caribbean Broadcasting Union (CBU) in Barbados, and as a Producer and Director for a TV sports and events company in Trinidad & Tobago.
She has produced and directed music videos, corporate films, promos and short documentaries, and has also written & directed several short fiction films including most recently Galahad Jones, a 30-minute comedy drama starring Anton Lesser (Game of Thrones, Endeavour, Andor) and Louis Emerick (Brookside, Layer Cake).
She has worked as a freelance director on several theatre productions, including at the Basement Theatre at Bristol Old Vic, Stepping Out Theatre Company and Kuumba Theatre. Bex also has experience of working as a 3rd Assistant Director on Film & TV drama productions, including Casualty and Eastenders for BBC Television, and as a runner on several film & TV drama productions. Bex’ Training includes BBC Studio Director’s Course at TV Centre, & Elstree, Borehamwood, Herts; The NFTS Director’s Series, Beaconsfield; High End TV Drama Directing, NFTS Leeds; Raindance Director’s Diploma, and Masters/Diploma Film Directing Course, Leeds Metropolitan University.
Her main skill areas are Directing & Working with Actors; Multi-camera studio directing (live and recorded programmes); Editing (Drama); Colour Grading and Scriptwriting.
Her hobbies include Writing, Illustration and Sculpting Dragons!
