Adel Kay Artist and Educator presents a:
Collage and Mixed Media Art for Wellbeing workshop - 1.5 hour session via zoom meeting.
(Please note for Apple app users, this online paid class can now only be checked out via direct Eventbrite web pages. It can no longer be checked out using the Apple Eventbrite app)
A zoom meeting link invitation will automatically be emailed to you on the day of the session and will also be available on the listing page 30 minutes before the event. Enjoy.
The aim of this session is to spend a fun, creative and relaxing 1.5 hour session learning about collage, connecting with other likeminded people, sharing our ideas and creating a colourful collage piece or pieces along the way. No prior experience is needed. We will use items that are readily available at home such as magazine cuttings, coloured pencils, crayons, marker pens or any media that you have available to colour our collages and create interesting effects. I will demonstrate collage techniques and will also show you examples of other Collage Artists' work to inspire and help you get creating. Together we will create colourful collage art pieces. Participants will have the opportunity to share their collage work during the session and also forward their work to me after the session where with your permission I will upload it to my 'Art for Wellbeing - Collage and Mixed Media course' Padlet page, so that during future online zoom course sessions participants can be inspired by the lovely creations that we create in these collage sessions.
You will need:
Any of the following - Magazine/s, hand painted papers, coloured papers
White paper/card
Tracing paper
Scissors
Glue stick
Any colouring media that you may wish to use for this session including marker pens, crayons, colour pencils, felt tips, paint sticks, fine liner pens, watercolour pens etcetera.
Art for Wellbeing
Art has been shown to improve mental health and well-being. When we create art together it can allow us to both socially interact and free ourselves from outside pressures, allowing us to immerse ourselves in to the creative flow bringing us confidence in our abilities and the learning of new skills along the way. If you can cut paper, you can collage. Take a look at our course padlet page to see what we have been creating.
