What to expect?

The Get Grants Digital Fundraising Training Course explores the wide digital landscape, discussing the pros and cons of a variety of popular digital platforms (such as social media (e.g. Facebook), email marketing tools (e.g. Mailchimp), and third party fundraising platforms (e.g. JustGiving), and where to focus your efforts and resources.

In this course you will gain insights, experience, and examples of digital practice to inspire and inform your planning. You will leave the course with added motivation, confidence and a more assured approach of how to develop a digital strategy to boost your organisation’s fundraising success in the current climate.

What topics we cover:

On our Digital Fundraising Course, you will explore a range of digital options for charities and examples of best practice. You will:

  • Learn about the digital landscape, its relevance to charity fundraising, and how digital tools can boost your overall fundraising income.
  • Discover the wide range of digital options available, and how to determine which tools are best for you.
  • Explore and discuss the pros and cons of various digital fundraising tools.
  • Investigate common issues for implementing digital fundraising, identifying those time-draining tasks, and learning time-saving tools and tips.
  • Learn different tactics to take advantage of the most popular tools and platforms.
  • Discuss how to incorporate digital as part of your overall fundraising strategy and create a plan for a cross-channel approach.

Our Digital Fundraising Training Course sessions are open and conversational, with a mix of group work and individual tasks, offering a friendly and relaxed environment with plenty of opportunities to ask questions throughout the sessions.

Course Delivery

Our Digital Fundraising Course is delivered via Zoom, across two lots of 2-hour sessions, leaving some time to read further course material and reflect on the information given.

About the Trainer

Emma Bryant MInstF (Dip) is a freelance charity consultant, trainer, and speaker specialising in digital fundraising and marketing.

Emma holds both the Diploma in Fundraising and Certificate in Fundraising from the Chartered Institute of Fundraising (CIOF) and is a tutor for the CIOF’s Certificate in Fundraising Online course, and formerly a tutor for the Institute for Sustainable Philanthropy’s Certificate in Fundraising Copywriting, and the US-based Fundraising Standard course.

Prior to going freelance, Emma worked for world-leading fundraising academics, Prof. Adrian Sargeant and Prof. Jen Shang for seven years supporting various bespoke research projects for international organisations. She has led and delivered fundraising programmes for local, national, and international charities, held Trustee positions, and is a current member of the CIOF’s South West Committee.

Emma enjoys being outside, from hiking to paddleboarding, or exploring the UK in her self-converted campervan.
