Gathering children's views - To support person-centred planning
About this session
The SEND Code of Practice encourages pupil/student involvement in the assess, plan, do, review process. Find out how to do this effectively and subjectively.
Some young people find it hard to process questions and provide responses. As a consequence their views and opinions can be assumed rather than gathered effectively.
This session explores the different ways student/pupil views can be captured. These fun, engaging and reciprocal strategies help ensure that their views are better understood and acted upon.
The session will explain the rationale and advantages of having strategies to gather views effectively. Through demonstration and modelling it will provide participants with a wealth of practical ideas they can deploy to find out what young people really thinking and feel about their learning.
