HUMAN SCALE EDUCATION LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS
WEDNESDAY JUNE 19th, 2024, 17.30-19.30
and
TUESDAY JULY 2nd, 2024, 17.30-19.30
These 2 sessions (online workshops), led by Dr Robin Precey and Mike Davies, will give you a solid introduction to transforming your school into a Human Scale School or going deeper implementing the HSE philosophy. You will have the opportunity to explore what it takes to become a HSE school. By the end of the workshop, you will be equipped with the information that you need to help you decide and move forward with your ideas.
What is included?
We start by exploring the human scale values of respect, democracy, social justice and sustainability and what these mean in practice.
Next, you will be asked to look at how your school is currently doing in relation to these values.
Examples of what “ordinary” schools have done to become more human scale will be presented and discussed including evidence for how effective the changes have been. International examples will also be included.
This will lead to you devising an action plan for your situation that is realistic bearing in mind your situation as well as your current school culture.
The Sessions include a one-to-one face to face or on-line consultation further down the road at a date and time to suit your action plan.
A change community might also be set up via HSE for peer support, depending on participant interest.
