Course Description: Living with Dementia is a 2 hour on-line training program that includes; an overview of the types of dementia, the causes of the disease, signs of mild cognitive impairment and stages throughout the illness. During this workshop, participants will gain an understanding of the impact of dementia on an individual's daily life and how it may hamper their daily activities. Through the use of a Virtual Reality technology, the facilitator will guide the class members through a series of snapshots in life of a senior with dementia. This immersive experience will enable a greater understanding of the challenges in living with dementia and becoming reliant on others.
