We invite you to join us on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, for the Not-for-Profit Essentials: Reporting of Contribution Revenue and Fundraising Events webinar. Accounting for contributions is arguably the most complicated aspect of not-for-profit bookkeeping. We’ll spend half of the workshop on this subject. You will learn about accounting for different types of contributions and grants, including pledges and non-cash gifts. Additionally, we will cover the complexities surrounding restricted and conditional gifts, as well as planned gifts.
Part of the session will walk through the tax return reporting for contributions and fundraising events. You will gain an understanding of how to report them on the Form 990 and Schedule G, including what fair market value actually means, what portion of contributions are deductible, and why events are often shown as a loss. We will also briefly discuss gaming activities and review the requirements for donor acknowledgement letters.
