Sliders, Sequences, and Animation in GeoGebra
Sat, 20 Apr 2024 14:00:00 GMT → Sat, 20 Apr 2024 16:00:00 GMT (d=2 hours, 0 seconds)
This is an online workshop via Zoom.
Using GeoGebra Classic 5 geometry software, we will explore sliders, sequences, and animation. Workshop participants should have the software installed prior to the day of the workshop. It can be downloaded for free at https://www.geogebra.org/download. Mac users may need to change their settings to allow the installation of 3rd party apps. Here’s a website that shows how to do that. While this workshop is appropriate for all levels, including those who have never used GeoGebra before, if you would like to familiarize yourself with the software before the workshop, I have a number of tutorials available on my YouTube channel. The workshop will be recorded, and the recording will be emailed to all participants after the workshop. I look forward to creating together. See you on April 20th!
Instructor Sarah Brewer (aka @mathemartiste) is an artist-mathematician from Mobile, Alabama, USA, interested in the mathematical tools for making art, the inherent beauty in pure mathematics, and the application of artistic and mathematical methods to other disciplines. Her most recent body of artistic and mathematical work is an investigation into classical Islamic geometric designs, paying particular attention to the circle packing that arises organically from the underlying Euclidean compass and straightedge construction. You can find her on Instagram and YouTube, and for access to a library of GeoGebra tutorials and discounts on future workshops, consider subscribing at patreon.com/mathemartiste.
