How might we make love? A fascinating question in the context of speculative fiction, a genre where writers create characters that might do anything with their bodies: change form, shake mountains, be invisible…

This workshop will take you through a focussed, multi-part writing exercise designed to consider sex and sexuality when nothing is impossible and everything is very fluid indeed.

Come and explore these ideas with award winning novelist, short story writer and editor Leone Ross, author of this One Sky Day.

Please expect adult themes and discussion of explicit sexuality. 18+ only.

About Leone:

Leone Ross is a novelist, short story writer and editor. Her fiction has been nominated for the Women’s Prize, the Goldsmiths award, the RSL Ondaatje award, and the Edge Hill Prize, among others. In 2022, she won the Manchester Prize for Fiction. The Guardian has praised her ‘searing empathy’ and the Times Literary Supplement called her ‘a master of detail…’ Ross has taught creative writing for 20 years. Her third novel, This One Sky Day aka Popisho was published in 2021 (Faber & Faber). She is the editor of Glimpse: A Black British Anthology of Speculative Fiction (2022, Peepal Tree Press).
