Storytelling and narrative skills workshop

Tue, 14 May 2024 08:30:00 GMT → Tue, 14 May 2024 10:30:00 GMT (d=2 hours, 0 seconds)

This is a workshop for any staff working with school age children or young people who have difficulties with storytelling and narrative.

By attending this workshop, you will:

  • Become familiar with how narrative develops in children
  • Develop your understanding about the importance of narrative skills in everyday life
  • Recognise the impact that difficulties in this area can have
  • Become familiar with how to support the development of storytelling and narrative skills

Reasons to attend:

  • You would like to learn more about storytelling and narrative skills.
  • You have concerns about a child or young person's storytelling or narrative skills. The child or young person may find it difficult to talk about things that have happened, give very little detail or include lots of irrelevant details when sharing their news, assume you know what they are talking about and/or get their ideas muddled up.

This course will be delivered online via Microsoft Teams. When you book, you will receive a confirmation email, and closer to the workshop date, you will receive information about how to access the workshop and the materials you will require for the workshop.

In the unlikely event that a workshop is cancelled, we will endeavour to give as much notice as possible and you will be offered a place on an alternative date.

If you need to swap a participant, please notify us of their name and email address as soon as possible so they can be sent all relevant emails. You can do this by emailing [email protected]
