- Cost-conscious with fee reductions for Members of People Dancing
- A chance to network with peers as passionate as you from near and far, the welcoming People Dancing team and a general emphasis on respite, refreshment, and the joy of together!
When was the last time you took time to reflect on the qualities, skills and values that underpin and inform your unique offer?
Whether you are working in community and participatory dance as freelancer or working with a company, often many of us lack a sense of direction or we have a feeling of just ‘treading water’ wondering how to move forward.
As a dance artist, YOU are your greatest and most valuable resource, you need to care for and nurture your practice to ensure it continues to serve you and those you work with.
Join Claire Pring, independent dance artist, accessor, author, educator and BBC Dance and Movement Content Creator for three online workshops. These will help you understand where you've been, where you are and where you're going in your career - with an option, afterwards, to gain a People Dancing Professional Qualification Level 3 Award in Professional Practice for Participatory Artists.
- Workshop One (07 July) – Where have you been? Reviewing and renewing your confidence in your skills and specialisms, reflecting on and reinforcing your identity as an artist
- Workshop Two (14 July) – Where are you now? Thinking about your passion and vision honing them in supportive conversation with your peers
- Workshop Three (21 July) – Where are you going? Supported time to carve out a personal plan to enable a long, successful and satisfying career.
Inspired by People Dancing’s Professional Code of Conduct and drawing on People Dancing's Development Needs Analysis (DNA) tool this course leads to the People Dancing Professional Qualification, Level 3 Award in Professional Practice for Participatory Artists - for further information please contact [email protected].
By taking this course you will learn:
- To consider the range of skills utilised when working in participatory arts and reflect upon personal strengths and areas to develop
- To appreciate how our values and core career skills connect and complement.
These online workshops are ideal for both early career and more experienced artists who wish to develop their practice and learn from each other.
