Ancient Egypt was a long-lived and complex civilisation. It's easy to forget that it was not a seperate fantasy-world, but a real society populated with a variety of people. This study day, hosted by Dr Campbell Price (Curator of Egypt and Sudan at the Manchester Museum) and Dr Nicky Nielsen (Senior Lecturer in Egyptology, University of Manchester) will focus on the lives and deaths of twenty of those ancient Egyptians. Each lecture will spotlight five individuals within four overall categories: 1) Artisans, 2) Soldiers, 3) Priests and 4) Courtiers.
