Communities need nonprofits. They operate critical social infrastructure like child care, food banks, street festivals, mini-soccer leagues, and more. Nonprofits are economic drivers, employing people and purchasing locally. They are also a sign of healthy civic engagement. 

As the needs for social infrastructure grow, and Ontario faces a generational labour force shortage, the nonprofit sector’s profile as an employer can be invisible. 

Join ONN  for an opportunity to participate in a virtual learning circle to better understand how workforce planning boards across Ontario can collaborate with nonprofit organizations on workforce challenges and solutions in their local regions. All 26 boards are invited to attend!

Our goal is to create an opportunity for cross-sectoral learning and engagement between ONN and workforce planning boards across the province. 

Learning discussion goals include: 

• Highlighting the nonprofit sector as a key employer in communities. 
• Learning how workforce development boards currently engage with the nonprofit sector to support current workforce challenges, including identifying challenges and successes.
• Exploring potential synergies between shared interests.
• Building reciprocal relationships across workforce development boards and with nonprofits, including ONN.
