"What's Your Story?" The Power of Narrative in Therapy (6 CEUs)

CALLING ALL STORY GUARDIANS:
“When your story changes, your life changes.”
Did you know you that you are a "story guardian"? People come to you to tell you their stories — and it is a sacred task. The story your clients tells about themselves will determine their self-esteem, their ability to work, and to love. One of the best ways to learn how to work with someone else's story is to work on your own.
In this 4-session series, we will take a deep dive into your story and work with it the same way we would work with a client’s story.
Content will include:
• Whose Story Is It?
• Your "Life Sentence"
• Recogning and Installing "Sparkling Moments"
• Shadows, Potholes, Steppingstones, & Reflections
• Trauma Release Writing
• Creating The New Story: Insight and Outlook
This course will not only be conducive to your own personal growth, but you will walk away with a new understanding of story and its pitfalls: narrative takeover, narrative tap-out, and rejecting what is true in the story. You will learn specific exercises and techniques from memoir, journaling, psychology, and story medicine that give you hands-on tools for discovery and healing.
Let’s get into the story. Let’s get out of the story when it no longer serves us. And let’s "re-store" the story when it needs healing.
I hope that you join me!
* This series will take place over four consecutive Tuesdays beginning on May 7th, from 7:00 - 8:30 PM Eastern, meeting via Zoom.
Dates of series: May 7, May 14, May 21, May 28.
