Writing `Violence in Horror with Alex Davis
Tue, 21 May 2024 17:30:00 GMT → Tue, 21 May 2024 19:30:00 GMT (d=2 hours, 0 seconds)
THE WORKSHOP:
Sometimes horror forces us as writers to go to some dark places, and sometimes there are moments and scenes that demand the depiction of violence on or by our protagonists. Rather than looking away, or attempting to duck these scenes, in this workshop we’ll explore some of the key approaches to getting some of the more vicious and physical sections in your horror novel just right.
THE TUTOR:
Alex Davis a writer, tutor, lecturer and events organiser based in Derby. He has been teaching creative writing in a range of capacities for 15 years, and has been a lecturer at the University of Derby for the last five years. He is currently working towards his PHD and working extensively on a series of online and in-person writing events, including the third running of the UK Ghost Story Festival in February 2023.
